As a Fleet Driver I, you'll do more than transport vehicles — you'll help keep Car Max operations running smoothly by ensuring the right cars get to the right place, on time, for the customers counting on us to deliver. • Safety first — conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections in compliance with DOT and Car Max standards using company hauler
• Stay compliant — maintain accurate and compliant DOT logs and documentation
• Transport with Care — load, secure, transport, and unload Car Max vehicles safely and efficiently, including hands-on freight handling, ladder climbing, and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Be accountable — move vehicles between Car Max locations and approved vendors using a company-provided truck, keeping your equipment clean, well-maintained, and operationally ready
• Deliver with purpose — deliver vehicles accurately and on time to support inventory flow and keep customers and stores on schedule
• Represent Car Max professionally — interact with vendors, store associates, and the public in a way that reflects our values every time

• 21 years of age or older with a valid state-issued driver's license
• Clean driving record with no serious violations in the past three years; candidates must meet Car Max’s Driver Safety Evaluation criteria
• Physical ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds; secure, block, and restrain vehicles during transport; and perform repetitive physical tasks including pulling, torquing, and tensioning chains, binders, and straps to meet FMCSA and Car Max load securement standards
• Must be able to climb, bend, and kneel to access and secure vehicles on multi-level transport decks
• Ability to meet DOT & FMCSA qualification requirements
• Comfortable working in outdoor environments, including exposure to noise and inclement weather
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with adherence to Car Max policies and safety standards
• Works efficiently and uses time wisely
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) issued by the state
• 2+ years of Class A CDL driving experience (Military heavy/medium tactical vehicle experience considered)

The hourly rate for this position is: $21.50 - $36.60

Except as otherwise required by state law, Car Max Associates are entitled to the following paid sick, vacation, and holiday time

Associates that are considered full-time hourly or commission/incentive eligible:

• To earn up to 48 hours of sick time per year accrued on a per pay period basis and between 80 hours and 200 hours per year of vacation time after a 90 day waiting period depending on years of continuous service with the Company
• For 8 hours of pay for each of a total of 6 paid scheduled holidays per year plus 1 floating holiday. If such an Associate does work on a scheduled holiday due to business need, they are eligible for Holiday Premium Pay

Associates considered full-time salaried are entitled to paid time away with no specified limit as needed for sick, vacation, bereavement, jury duty, holidays, floating holiday, etc. subject to manager approval
