The role of a Logistics Coordinator is to identify and understand our customer's transportation needs.
Your main responsibilities will include receiving, booking and scheduling transportation orders to ensure timely and accurate movement of freight and information. To be successful in this role one must be customer focused, should be able to think creatively about problems and overcoming them, and should have excellent interpersonal skills while delivering exceptional customer service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Provide exceptional customer service for internal and external customers.
- Build strong relationships with customers, carriers, and Expeditors offices.
- Proactively communicate shipment updates, exceptions, and solutions.
- Follow customer-specific standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Operations
- Review shipment requirements and transportation needs.
- Create and process domestic transportation shipments.
- Coordinate freight movement and monitor shipments from pickup through delivery.
- Resolve shipment exceptions and service issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain compliance with operational and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure timely and accurate data entry into Expeditors operating systems.
- Monitor exception reports and resolve data discrepancies.
- Process customer invoicing accurately and promptly.
- Verify carrier costs and ensure proper billing provisions.
- Follow credit approval processes to minimize financial risk.
Performance Expectations
- Consistently meet deadlines and service commitments.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Support continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments.
- Customer service experience preferred.
- Transportation, logistics, supply chain, or freight forwarding experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
