Position Summary
The Materials Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Materials department in the areas of material purchasing, purchasing reporting, inventory management, and accounts payable to ensure smooth and efficient flow of materials within the home building facility.
Responsibilities- Material purchasing – count, plan, and order selected items on a weekly basis; update pricing using AS400, IGPS purchase system.
- Update Bill of Materials in ERP system.
- Purchasing reporting – develop and maintain charts for key metrics with the guidance of the Materials Manager.
- Manage D&O, waste wire, and debit bill‑back spreadsheets.
- Accounts Payable assistance – weekly review of unmatched invoices and packing lists, vendor communication for invoicing issues, and assist front desk coverage during lunch hours if needed.
- Key member of the inventory team, assisting in all Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly inventories which occur on Friday and Saturday (REQUIRED).
- ERP (ORACLE) counting for Frame Shop.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 0–2 years’ prior relevant experience in materials, purchasing, warehouse, etc.
- Experience with Oracle ERP preferred.
- Exceptional math skills including reasoning skills required to investigate problems and develop APU’s (average per unit usage).
- Accounting skills: basic knowledge of accounting practices such as payments of invoices and processing of credits.
- Good communication skills: ability to work with a wide range of people including Team Members, vendors, and management.
- Time management: ability to multi‑task between the different responsibilities will be important due to daily interaction within multiple groups.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Work may require stooping, bending, crouching, crawling, pushing, and / or pulling.
- Must be able to communicate with others via phone, e‑mail, and in person; proficient in Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
- Work environment is not temperature controlled and may result in exposure to extreme temperatures.
- Work primarily involves sitting / standing, up to 4 hours at a time.
