Precision sample preparation starts at ALS in Terrace, British Columbia, where technicians crush, sieve, split, and prepare samples for laboratory analysis.
As a Sample Preparation Technician, you will work within ALS’s Sample Preparation Department, handling client samples under direct supervision. Your work supports reliable analytical results for mining, environmental science, and industry through established procedures, schedules, and safety policies.
Key Responsibilities:- Ring, sieve, crush, and split client samples
- Load and unload drying ovens under supervision
- Maintain accurate production logs
- Complete general cleaning for basic laboratory cleanliness
- Use established methods and schedules while ensuring analytical quality
- Strong hand eye coordination and attention to detail
- Basic alphanumeric comprehension and English communication
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand throughout a full shift and wear PPE
