Power Engineer

Position Summary

We are looking for a dedicated Power Engineer 4 to work at Ksyen Regional Hospital. The role will operate, repair and carry out preventative maintenance on boilers, air conditioning units, emergency power and other related equipment in the facility, perform mechanical maintenance, repairs, and replacement duties related to the physical plant, buildings and equipment, approach various journeyman trades qualifications, supervise other maintenance workers, and manage contractors and projects as required.

07:00 to 19:00, 11:00 to 23:00, 19:00 to 07:00, rotating.

• Operate, repair and conduct preventive maintenance on boilers, air‑conditioning units, emergency power and related equipment.
• Perform mechanical maintenance, repair and replacement duties for the physical plant, buildings and equipment, approaching various journeyman trades qualifications.
• Supervise other maintenance workers and designated staff as required.
• Manage contractors and projects as required.

• Certificate of competency as a 4th Class Power Engineer.
• Grade 10 plus at least four (4) years’ recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Valid BC Driver’s License.

• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Deal with others effectively.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications.
• Organize work and prioritize work assignments.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Operate related equipment.
