Position OverviewWe are seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic or Power Generation Technician to join our team at our Terrace, BC location. The ideal candidate has experience diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing generators and diesel engines. You’ll work on everything from small portable units to large industrial standby generators, supporting our mission to keep our clients powered up with temporary generators as well as compliant with CSA 282 standards for permanent backup generators.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose, repair, and service generators (10kW–2MW+).
- Support remote generators at various mine sites and occasional out of town work.
- Perform annual services, preventative maintenance, and load testing.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, including alternators, AVRs, and control systems.
- Support field service calls across Terrace, Prince Rupert, Kitimat, and surrounding areas.
- Maintain detailed service records and ensure compliance with CSA 282 and CEC codes.
- Collaborate with our team to improve service processes and customer experience.
- Participate in Relhko dealer training programs to stay current with equipment and technology.
- Work together as a team with clear and consistent communication.
- Journeyman Heavy‑Duty Mechanic, Electrician, or Power Generation Technician certification preferred (or equivalent experience).
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and propane/natural gas systems.
- Experience troubleshooting engines, generators and related components.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and in remote field environments.
- CSA 282 familiarity is an asset (training available).
- Must be able to pass a D&A test for site accessibility.
