Terrace Water and Wastewater Technician

Become a key player in public health by joining the City of Terrace as a Water and Wastewater Technician. Maintain vital water treatment facilities and ensure safety through laboratory testing and equipment management.

Directly reporting to the Working Foreman, you will engage in maintaining both Sewage Treatment and Water Treatment facilities. The position requires conducting routine tests, managing repairs, and collaborating with the team to ensure smooth operations of the water systems. Senior technicians will have opportunities to take on additional responsibilities and support foreman duties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance and repairs on water treatment equipment

• Monitor chlorine and bacteria levels through lab tests

• Inspect lift stations and maintain daily performance records

• Interpret meter readings to adjust systems as necessary

• Engage in emergency response and complete other assigned duties

Requirements:

• Secondary school diploma

• Two years of related work experience

• Desired EOCP certifications in water systems

• Familiarity with laboratory procedures and chemicals

• Good communication and teamwork skills
