Roads Maintenance Equipment Operator

Elevate your career as a Roads Maintenance Equipment Operator, ensuring the efficiency of road maintenance and winter services. Work under the Roads Foreman and utilize your skills in operating various machinery.

The ideal candidate has at least three years of experience in operating and maintaining heavy equipment, along with a foundation in municipal infrastructure knowledge. You will perform a variety of tasks including daily inspections and manual labor like flagging and concrete work. Strong ability to operate equipment safely around utility lines is crucial.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy machinery, including backhoes and dump trucks

• Inspect equipment for visible damage and operational readiness

• Assist in drainage and road marking tasks as needed

• Maintain accurate daily operational records

• Participate in emergency callouts and training sessions

Requirements:

• Grade 12 education with heavy equipment experience

• Good physical condition for manual tasks

• Valid Class 3 B.C. Driver's Licence, air brakes endorsement

• Familiarity with WorkSafeBC Regulations

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
