Blaster's Helper in Northwest BC

Reporting to the Supervisor of Drill & Blast, the Blaster’s Helper plays an integral role in blast pattern preparation and explosive handling. This position demands a commitment to safety and compliance, ensuring all tasks align with mining health standards. With a focus on collaboration and communication, you will support your team and help contribute to the revitalization of the Eskay Creek Mine.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in loading and stemming drill holes safely

• Conduct tie-ins using non-electric and electronic initiation systems

• Maintain cleanliness and security of blast areas

• Participate in safety meetings and risk assessments

• Support additional blasting operations as needed

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years' experience in open-pit mining

• Valid driver’s license with a clean record

• Strong knowledge of blasting standards and regulations

• Ability to work in rugged, remote conditions

• Willingness to work 12-hour shifts and rotations
