Materials and Transportation Clerk - SDI Heartland

Job Title

Support the Transportation and Materials Department in receiving and ordering steel.

Maintain document control of department records. Verify and maintain receiving records for the department. Backup to the Logistics Clerk, Rail Clerk and Purchasing Assistant. Provide routine updates of departmental performance statistics. Check acknowledgements of hot band orders. Scan and file BOLs and other files with retention requirements. Maintain a daily shipping report. Perform other miscellaneous administrative and clerical duties.

Required

• Strong safety record
• 2+ years of experience in a related field (or 2-year degree in business or related discipline)
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
• Excellent organizational skills
• Capable of prioritizing and multitasking
• Must be self-motivated, able to make decisions, and work without direct supervision
• Must maintain and ensure complete confidentiality of employee records
• Must establish and maintain professional and effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, managers, administrators, other departments, and external entities/agencies

Preferred

• Clerical, logistics, and inventory management experience
