Job Summary /Basic Function

Sycamores Summer Scholars is a week-long program that enables high school students to explore academic interests, experience campus life, and earn college credit. Sycamore Summer Scholars week will be held at Indiana State University during the summer semester in July. ; ;
The Sycamore Summer Scholars leader position is an outstanding opportunity for a student interested in gaining leadership skills. Leaders will participate in some daily activities and all evening activities for Sycamore Summer Scholars week. Sycamore Summer Scholars leaders are essential in facilitating a fun, positive, and safe experience for current juniors in high school for the duration of the program.

They will be living on campus in Pickerl Hall for the week-long residential program. They will serve as program counselors but do not need to have knowledge of seminar topics. As a part of your position as a Leader, you will get to stay on campus the whole week and your room and meals are covered!

Specific Responsibilities Work Schedule

Camp is held between July 7-11th. You will have additional training throughout the term prior to camp. More details will be provided during the interview process.

NCAA Guidelines

All employees and staff of ISU are bound by all NCAA, Missouri Valley Conference and institutional rules and regulations pertaining to intercollegiate athletics and must conduct themselves in accordance therewith. Job Duties

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Actively participate in the summer training session

* Serve as a positive representative of ISU on a broad range of topics including academics and co-curricular experiences

* Serve as a leader, main point of contact, and a positive role model for Summer Honors & Makers participants

* Facilitate small groups of high school students in discussions on their seminar experience

* Facilitate and engage in every evening activity scheduled throughout the program

* Provide general administrative assistance to the Summer Honors & Makers Week Coordinator

* Take attendance for the assigned seminar group every morning
