Ivy Tech Community College – Terre Haute Campus is recruiting for Part Time Faculty (Adjunct Faculty) to teach Agriculture classes in a face‑to‑face classroom setting.
Qualifications- Earned baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution in one of the following fields:
— Agricultural and Biological Engineering
— Agriculture Education
— Agricultural Economics
— Agricultural Systems Management
— Agronomy
— Animal Science
— Botany
— Horticulture
— Plant Science - Current Workplace Specialist License granted by the Indiana Department of Education appropriate to course objectives, directly linked to credentials, certifications, and competencies listed in the Course Outline of Record (COR)
- Earned associate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution directly related to the program’s discipline and at least two years of directly related work experience
Adjunct Faculty are hired each semester on an as‑needed basis and are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi.
Major Responsibilities- Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
- Make optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
- Develop and maintain course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and instructional materials; maintain accurate student records, grades, and other required documentation.
- Engage with students in meaningful and productive ways that influence student learning and lead to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College; demonstrate active classroom teaching strategies focused on student engagement.
- Interact with students and co‑workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complying with College policies, campus guidelines, and expectations.
- Ensure knowledge of and implement emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs, and all learning environments.
- Other duties logically associated with this position may be assigned; all responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
- Possess strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to the area of instruction and meet faculty credentials as outlined in ASOM 7.1 for the specific area(s) of instruction; conduct all activities with an appreciation, respect, and promotion of diversity of people, styles, and views.
