PT - LRC Science Tutor - Anatomy & Physiology Focus

Position Overview

The Learning Resource Center (LRC) at Ivy Tech Community College - Terre Haute Campus is recruiting for a Science Tutor with a strong background in Anatomy and Physiology (APHY). The role supports students in APHY coursework, including lab content and basic microscope usage.

• Provide one‑on‑one and small group tutoring sessions in Anatomy and Physiology.
• Support students with microscope functions and identification of specimens under magnification.
• Model academic integrity and responsible academic behavior.
• Contribute to student learning, growth, and confidence in science coursework.
• Develop strategies that promote scientific thinking and effective study habits.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to align tutoring strategies with course expectations.
• Create supplemental learning materials as needed.
• Stay updated on curriculum developments in Anatomy and Physiology.
• Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions in Trac Cloud.
• Distribute and collect student feedback as directed.
• Refer students to additional campus support resources when appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

$15.00/hour, scheduled up to 28 hours per week.

• Minimum of a B or higher in college‑level Anatomy and Physiology.
• Experience with microscopes and familiarity with histology content is preferred.
• Comfortable explaining scientific concepts clearly and patiently.
• Emotionally mature, dependable, and professional.
• Open to feedback and capable of working collaboratively.
