Full-time Visiting Faculty in Mechanical Engineering for

The Mechanical Engineering Department at Rose‑Hulman is searching for inspiring educators who share our passion for teaching undergraduate engineering students. We seek passionate engineering educators with ability to teach undergraduate courses at a rank commensurate with experience for a one or two-year visiting (non‑tenure‑track) position to begin in fall 2026. We welcome applications from any area of mechanical engineering.

Requirements include a doctorate degree (by the start of employment) and a baccalaureate degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field. The essential job function is teaching students. Our world‑class faculty are excited to exchange ideas with aspiring candidates from various and diverse backgrounds and experiences, including but not limited to: engineering educators, seasoned instructors on leave from their home institutions, individuals with an industrial background seeking teaching experience, or recent Ph.D. graduates seeking teaching experience.

  • A cover letter that summarizes key ideas in the statements below. This letter must clearly and explicitly identify at least six mechanical engineering, engineering science, or engineering mechanics courses you would be most interested in teaching in our quarter‑based system.   • A statement that discusses your teaching philosophy and accomplishments, while demonstrating that you share our passion for teaching and mentoring undergraduate students.
  • A current curriculum vitae.

Finalist candidates will also be asked to provide contact information for at least three professional references capable of commenting on the appropriateness of your candidacy at Rose‑Hulman.
