This role plays a key part in maintaining the bank’s financial health by managing delinquent credit card accounts and building productive customer relationships. WhatYou’ll Do
- Resolve Delinquencies:
Act as the primary contact for credit card accounts deemed delinquent, managing collections with professionalism and empathy. - Provide Solutions:
Answer incoming calls to assist customers with balance and transaction questions. Contact customers via phone, mail, or in person to discuss overdue payments, explore financial counseling options, and work out repayment plans. - Process Recoveries:
Track, post, and manage recovery payments for charged-off credit card accounts. - Collaborate with Counsel:
Provide documentation and case support to external collection attorneys and agencies as needed. - Negotiate Settlements:
Work with customers and credit counseling services to negotiate and process settlements on past-due accounts. - Maintain Records:
Assemble charge-off files and ensure all documentation is complete and accurate. - Stay Compliant:
Apply thorough knowledge of the CARD Act and ensure all activities comply with regulatory and bank-specific policies.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior banking or collection experience preferred
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and other relevant software
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills - Ability to problem-solve and work independently
- Familiarity with financial counseling processes and recovery best practices
- Ability to commute to the primary work location and occasionally to other work locations within driving distance.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for up to 75% of an eight (8) hour workday.
- Ability to review information and details at close range (within a few feet).
