Data Analyst
Description
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented GIS Data Analyst to join our team. The GIS Data Analyst will work at the intersection of data analysis, programming and cartography. The role designs and maintains spatial datasets and workflows, performs repeatable geospatial analyses, and publishes maps, dashboards, and reports that support operational and strategic decision‑making. This position is expected to apply governance and quality standards so that spatial data remains accurate, auditable, and aligned across systems.

Supervises- No direct reports
- May lead, train, or participate in work team assignments.
- Must be able to spend long hours using a computer/keyboard and/or phone. May involve prolonged periods of sitting, standing, or walking.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Excellent verbal/written communication skills
- Excellent listening skills
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor
- Ability to evaluate situations and adjust to changing priorities
- Organized and able to provide and maintain detailed documentation
- Working knowledge of Cartography
- Analytical skills, including ability to research and solve problems independently
- Ability to understand reports, maps, drawings or other geographic data for analysis
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Google Maps/Earth and Adobe Acrobat
- Experience with ESRI tools such as ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online
- Experience with building and publishing dashboards, surveys, experience builder applications, and web mapping content within an ESRI environment.
- Experience with Python and SQL preferred; demonstrated ability to automate data prep and analysis steps.
- Candidate must be willing to reside near or commute to a Joink office (Currently within Illinois: Taylorville, Hillsboro; Indiana: Terre Haute)
- 40 hours per week
- Office Environment
- Occasional overtime as deadlines require
- Less than 10% overnight travel
- Will be on‑call on a pre‑arranged basis to support the platform if necessary.
