Overview

Build your career at US Aggregates! As an Equipment Operator/Laborer, you will have responsibility for maintaining production, maintenance, quality, and safety within the Aggregates' Operations function, including but not limited to operating heavy equipment such as front‑end loaders, haul trucks, skid‑steers, etc.

Essential Functions
  • Operate, service, and maintain various heavy equipment including front‑end loaders, off‑road dump trucks, skid steers, man‑lifts, fuel trucks, and water trucks to keep plant clean and in production.
  • Fuel, oil, grease equipment and understand equipment safety manuals.
  • Perform pre‑shift and end‑shift checks and maintenance on equipment.
  • Report orally and in writing and maintain accurate records such as activity reports, inventory reports, and maintenance logs.
  • Participate in general training, job‑specific training, and hazardous materials training as required; successfully complete written examinations.
  • Understand and follow all policies, procedures, and safety rules applicable to the facility, job function, equipment, and railroad tracks.
  • Keep facilities and equipment clean and maintained.
  • Recommend changes to operations that may produce safer work processes, savings, and efficiencies.
  • Abide by yard rules, safety regulations, PPE requirements, and all terminal processes related to product transfers, quality assurance, safety, and operations.
  • Accurately complete all required paperwork and documentation, recordkeeping, and daily inventory.
  • Complete required training and certifications necessary to perform duties safely and effectively.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned and contribute to continuous growth in alignment with the company’s core values and competencies.
Education and Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
Skills and Abilities
  • Maintain regular, dependable attendance and high performance.
  • Follow written and verbal directions to complete tasks on schedule.
  • Read, write, and communicate in English; understand basic math.
  • Working knowledge of US Aggregates safety and operating principles.
  • Complete all applicable documentation, recordkeeping, and daily inventory.
  • Participate in safety and job briefings and pass on information from team members, management, or customers.
  • Work with a team, take direction and follow work rules, and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
  • Flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends.
  • Perform all work in compliance with company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
  • Strong welding, torching, and maintenance skills preferred.
Working Conditions / Physical Demands
  • Continuously stand or walk on level or uneven ground.
  • Ascend and descend ladders, stairways, and incline catwalks.
  • Bend, crouch, or kneel at waist or knee height.
  • Lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Work outside most of the time and withstand extreme weather conditions—hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy.
