Off-Shift Manufacturing Manager
Directs and oversees the organization's off-shift manufacturing business in areas including safety, quality, production, maintenance, and warehouse. The individual will be the coordination point & emergency contact for key topics relating to off-shift manufacturing. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. This person is an integral member of the management team and will work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The individual supports the department responsible leaders on communication, training, appraising performance, and reward/discipline as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Always follow all Company Safety policies and procedures
- Responsible for leading all personnel assigned to the off-shift Operations Areas of production, quality, maintenance, and warehouse
- Be the coordination point for key topics relating to off-shift manufacturing
- Review daily staffing and ensure staffing efficiency across business areas
- Assesses operations performance for profitability and directs activity to improve efficiencies and continuous improvements.
- Ensures performance metrics and goals are met. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Creates and implements high performance work teams to drive and support manufacturing philosophies such as lean manufacturing, Six Sigma and best practice principals and Kaizen.
- Maintains established GMP's, SQF, HACCP, and housekeeping standards for operations area.
- Responsible for supporting the training of all operations personnel.
- Conducts operations meetings in accordance with the organizational standards.
- Communicates appropriate information to the applicable areas.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Indirectly responsible of all employees on the off-shift.
Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
- Prior food manufacturing required with 6+ years related experience.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, operation management and minimum of 6+ years related Operations leadership experience.
- Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures, including Lean Manufacturing, Teambuilding and Six Sigma.
- Additional preferences include quality and logistics experience.
Computer and Technology Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Windows operating system, Microsoft office suite software, SAP, ADP, Ignition, and Mobysis System.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. German language speaking skills is another advantage.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and ability to apply concepts such as: fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
