Description:
We urgently need support for our busy chemotherapy infusion unit.
Chemo certification is preferred, but experience in chemotherapy infusion is acceptable.
Candidates should have some flexibility with hours based on patient schedules.
Scrubs should be solid color in Ceil Blue, Royal Blue, Burgundy/Wine, or Pewter Gray.
Chemotherapy infusion nurses are responsible for administering intravenous chemotherapy drugs and various types of intravenous therapies.
They provide pre- and post-treatment patient care.
Responsibilities include assessing patients prior to IV treatments, accessing ports or performing peripheral IV access for lab draws and IV therapies.
Nurses will administer chemotherapy and other IV infusions while operating equipment and monitoring patients during treatment.
They will also administer prescribed intravenous medications and oral pre-treatment medications.
Monitoring and responding to side effects or reactions, and treating appropriately per protocols is essential.
Experience with Cerner and Intellidose (TxM) is a plus.
