Essential Functions
Performs quality control tests
Obtains samples of hot mix from a delivery truck
Performs all QC and QA tests required
Assists with mix designs
Communicates with internal/external customers
Collaborates with multiple work groups to ensure proper tests and requirements are met
Meets INDOT deadlines
Attends training
Obtains qualifications from INDOT
Maintains certifications
Promotes and maintains safe work environment
Exhibits safe work behaviors
Wears all prescribed PPE
Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company’s core values, competencies, and skills.
Education QualificationsRequired:
High School or Equivalent Experience
Experience working with concrete in the heavy/highway industry preferred 3+ years experience within the asphalt heavy/highway industry
Skills and AbilitiesAbility to perform mathematical computations, of increasing complexity, by hand, with calculators and Excel
Ability to read and comprehend technical specifications
Ability to read measuring devices in metric and English
Licenses and CertificationsACI Field Level 1 Certification Preferred
INDOT Quality Control Certification (must obtain if not currently hold)
Asphalt QC Certification (must obtain if not currently hold)
Working Conditions/Physical DemandsLifts, pushes, pulls, pours or carries heavy objects and buckets of material
Ability to lift 60 pounds consistently and up to 80 pounds occasionally
Walks and stands for long periods of time
Bends, stoops, squats, reaches to move, mix and test materials
Uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue
Uses good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination, with the ability to quickly move arms and legs
Possess excellent stamina to work between 8-12 hours per day
Drives distances between labs, plants and job sites, as needed
Ability to work both night and daytime hours, weekend, and overtime
