Aquila Corporation is looking for an experienced, hands-on Cable Placement Manager to lead our underground fiber and cable-placement operations.

This isn't a desk-only management role. We're looking for a leader who knows fiber placement, understands the equipment, can troubleshoot in the field, and can lead crews safely and efficiently.

Hands-on experience with Larson cable/fiber placement trailers and Hurricane fiber blowers is highly important for this position.

• Lead, schedule, and support underground fiber placement crews.
• Plan daily production, routes, footage, manpower, equipment, and materials.
• Oversee underground fiber installation through conduit, handholes, vaults, pedestals, and cabinets.
• Operate, troubleshoot, and train employees on Larson placement trailers, Hurricane fiber blowers, compressors, winches, cable pushers, and related equipment.
• Read and interpret OSP construction prints, fiber routes, conduit assignments, and project specifications.
• Track production, installed footage, redlines, photos, reel records, and project completion.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, drilling crews, splicing teams, customers, subcontractors, and other field personnel.
• Ensure equipment, trucks, trailers, tools, and materials are maintained and ready for work.
• Lead safety and quality expectations in the field.
• Troubleshoot conduit, equipment, production, and other field issues to keep projects moving.

• Strong underground telecommunications, OSP fiber, or cable-placement experience.
• Hands-on experience with Larson cable/fiber placement trailers and Hurricane fiber blowers.
• Knowledge of pneumatic fiber blowing, compressors, cable pushers, winches, conduit preparation, and conventional pulling methods.
• Ability to read and understand OSP prints and construction plans.
• Strong mechanical and field troubleshooting skills.
• Previous experience leading underground, fiber, or OSP crews preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and accountability.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements.
• Ability to travel, work outdoors, and work extended hours when projects require it.
