As a Camp Counselor, you will play a key role in creating a fun, safe, and immersive environment for kids. Your primary responsibility is to guide and supervise campers through various camp activities, while ensuring their safety and well-being. You'll work closely with fellow counselors and your supervisor, to implement daily programming, foster positive relationships with campers, and help achieve our goal of teaching English through immersive activities.

The Camp Counselor plays a key role in creating a fun, safe, and immersive environment for children at Lang mobile Summer Camps. Counselors guide and supervise campers throughout the day while actively participating in activities designed to promote English learning through immersion. Working closely with fellow counselors, supervisors, and coordinators, the Camp Counselor helps implement daily programming, fosters positive relationships with campers, and contributes to a welcoming and inclusive camp culture.
Energy, enthusiasm, and a strong sense of responsibility are essential to creating a memorable and meaningful camp experience.
- Supervise campers and ensure their safety and well-being at all times
- Lead and animate daily activities including games, arts & crafts, sports, theatre, and language-learning activities
- Encourage teamwork, inclusion, respect, and positive camper behavior
- Set up, organize, and clean activity areas and shared spaces
- Apply immersive language-learning techniques and training principles consistently
- Assist with camp opening and closing duties based on schedules
- Provide First Aid when required and report incidents or injuries promptly
- Complete required paperwork (first aid, behavioral, interpersonal reports)
- Participate in weekly meetings and ongoing training sessions
- Represent Lang mobile professionally and enthusiastically
The ideal candidate is at least 17 years old and enjoys working with children in a dynamic, active environment. Previous experience in camps or educational settings is an asset. The candidate is positive, approachable, energetic, and confident leading groups of children. Strong communication skills, adaptability, and the ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations are essential. A genuine interest in language learning and helping children reach their potential is important.
First Aid certification is required (training provided if needed).
This is a seasonal position with physical and outdoor activity requirements. Counselors must be comfortable standing, moving, lifting up to 25 lbs, and participating in active games throughout the day. Camp life can be unpredictable, and not all situations can be detailed in advance. Lang mobile provides comprehensive staff training before and during the camp season to prepare counselors for a wide range of scenarios.
