What You’ll Get to DoJoin the Oldcastle Building Envelope (OBE) team as a Technical Support Specialist within our Product & Innovation Technical Support group. In this dynamic role, you will put your technical expertise to work by ensuring excellence in product and application support for a wide range of architectural glass, glazing, and metal systems. You’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact on how our customers experience OBE driving continuous improvement, sharing knowledge, and shaping our culture of technical mastery.
TechnicalProduct Support
- Manage and resolve internal customer inquiries on glass and metal product performance, application, and compliance.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to troubleshoot issues and drive effective resolutions.
- Track all technical requests and contribute to metrics through monthly dashboards.
- Provide hands‑on technical guidance to ensure our products are properly applied across projects and environments.
- Partner with internal teams to deliver precise, reliable solutions that meet performance and design standards.
- Identify opportunities for design or process improvements and recommend engineering changes for standard products.
- Develop and maintain internal technical reference libraries and tools to enhance the organization’s knowledge base.
- Support internal and external teams with guidance, technical resources, and training programs.
- Evaluate trends in support requests to inform future learning materials and process improvements.
Represent OBE at key associations such as FGIA, ASTM, NGA, and NFRC, staying at the forefront of standards and best practices in the architectural glass and building envelope industry.
What We Are Looking For- Associate degree in Engineering or a related field required
- 5+ years of experience in product design, engineering, manufacturing, or application relating to architectural glass, glazing systems, or metal fabrication
- Strong understanding of curtain walls, storefront systems, window walls, or building envelope products
- Proficiency with Autodesk AutoCAD, NFRC thermal modeling, Window Glass Design, and design pressure or structural analysis software strongly preferred
- Skilled with Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, and Power Point
- Exceptional problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy in all deliverables
- Self‑starter who thrives in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, both written and verbal
