Make a Difference in Behavioral Health CareWe are seeking a compassionate and experienced Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide specialized swallowing assessment and treatment services for patients in a state behavioral health facility. Schedule- Part-Time Position
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday
- 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Actual workdays are flexible
- Minimum 3-month assignment with possibility of extension
- Conduct comprehensive swallowing assessments, including patient history review, examination, direct observation, and collaboration with physicians and treatment teams
- Develop individualized treatment plans to address swallowing disorders and reduce the risk of choking and aspiration
- Perform ongoing patient evaluations and adjust treatment plans as clinically indicated
- Document assessments, interventions, progress, and outcomes accurately and within required time frames
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and appropriate referrals
- Ensure compliance with facility policies, HHSC standards, CMS requirements, Joint Commission guidelines, and regulatory standards
- Monitor and support adherence to clinical best practices and facility operating procedures
- Promote patient safety and quality care in a specialized mental health treatment environment
- Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology
- Current and unrestricted Texas Speech Language Pathology license through TDLR
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS/CPR certification
- Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills
- Ability to work effectively with patients who may have mental health conditions and dual diagnoses
- Comply with all HHSC and State Hospital policies and procedures
- Complete required facility orientation and training
- Pass required background check and fingerprinting
- Complete required drug screening
- Meet HHSC immunization requirements
- Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality standards
