Machine Operator 1 – Extrusion – Nights B – 6p-6a

Location:

Terrell, TX

We are seeking a reliable and safety‑conscious machine operator to work overnight shifts in our extrusion line. This position involves handling caustic chemicals, operating machinery, and using an overhead crane to move items within the production area.

Responsibilities
  • Handle caustic chemicals safely.
  • Operate extrusion machinery and an overhead crane.
  • Maintain the equipment and ensure proper function.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Attend shift regularly and arrive on time.
Qualifications
  • Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Experience reading and interpreting die drawings.
  • Proficiency with calipers, protractors, squares, micrometers, and feeler gauges.
  • Strong multitasking, prioritization, and ability to work under time constraints.
  • Good communication skills with peers and management.
  • Self‑directed with minimal supervision.
  • Flexible schedule, including overtime, and willingness to work nights.
  • Team player; able to be trained for other areas as needed.
  • Preference for candidates with prior extrusion experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand and walk on concrete for up to 12 hours.
  • Twist, bend, stoop and kneel as required.
  • Lift, push, pull, and move up to 75 lbs alone or 150 lbs with a partner.
  • Grasp and manipulate metal above the wrist to handle thin to thick items.
  • Reach, handle, and grasp while turning the upper body during movement and lifting.
  • Visual acuity required to inspect products for quality flaws and equipment safety.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment at all times.
  • Work in temperatures consistent with the regional outdoor climate (heat, humidity, etc.).
