Position: Material Handler 2

Essential Functions

  • Complete daily forklift inspection report and submit to Supervisor/Lead.
  • Immediately advise Supervisor/Lead of any issues or concerns during shift regarding the forklift.
  • Perform daily functions with extreme care as dispatched and/or requested by Supervisor/Lead in the time allocated per company standards.
  • Utilize scan equipment to properly report movement of product or materials in SAP.
  • Safely expedite material/product through the manufacturing area.
  • Promptly report questionable conditions or product conformities to the Supervisor/Lead.
  • Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter.
  • Keep track of company tools and equipment.
  • Maintain correct quantity counts of material and scrap and accurate reporting.
  • Know and comply with the carrying capacity, lift capacity, and load weight being transported.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, regulations, and general hygiene regulations.
  • Assist in sweeping floors and/or cleaning the production area when needed or requested.
  • Comply with all work‑related activities in a fair, ethical, and consistent manner.
  • Act as a productive, proactive, and contributing team member in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Adhere to all safety standards and company policies, including mandatory safety training and sounding alarms as required when operating a forklift.
  • Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards.
  • Be an active participant in lean events as directed by supervisor.
  • Advise Supervisor/Lead of any oil leaks and promptly clean up spills.
Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Operate simple hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, cut‑off saws, and scan guns.
  • Stand, walk, bend, climb, and squat for prolonged periods.
  • Have manual dexterity, strong hand‑eye‑foot coordination, balance, and the ability to accurately judge distances.
  • Work levers, buttons, foot pedals, simple gauges, and other instruments.
  • Familiarity with radio‑frequency equipment.
  • Maintain a good attitude and common sense.
  • Work well with others, independently, and be honest and dependable.
  • Understand and follow instructions and learn from experienced personnel.
  • Available to work weekends and/or overtime.
  • Work and concentrate in a noisy environment.
  • Wear protective equipment such as earplugs, safety glasses, gloves, boots, and respirators.
  • Lifts up to 50 lbs.
Education and Experience
  • Basic mathematical knowledge and skills; accurate counting of parts.
  • Ability to read and write.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English; computer skills a plus.
Work Environment

Manufacturing plant environment with extreme temperature fluctuations.

Dusty and noisy environment.

Exposure to odors and fumes.
