The Lead oversees daily production activities, ensuring that manufacturing processes run efficiently, safely, and meet quality standards. This role acts as a bridge between management and production staff, coordinating workflow, monitoring performance, and resolving issues to maintain productivity and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities- Counsel, mentor, coach, and develop employees.
- Coordinate production workflow throughout the department and move resources as needed.
- Communicate effectively across shifts to ensure proper handoffs.
- Ensure all crew members are prepared and ready for duty, including proper personal protective equipment.
- Enforce all company guidelines, standards, and policies, including Safety & Quality.
- Make quick business decisions such as adjusting or moving personnel to meet product requirements.
- Perform daily quality checks.
- Cross‑train to safely operate all equipment and cover all positions as needed.
- Train department employees to perform tasks safely and accurately to predetermined standards.
- Notify management of equipment malfunctions and other potential safety issues.
- Maintain accurate production records, report issues, and suggest improvements.
- Assist in onboarding and training new team members on processes and safety.
- Address production delays, equipment malfunctions, and staffing challenges promptly.
- Stand and walk for entire shift on concrete, up to 12 hours.
- Twist, bend, stoop and kneel.
- Lift, push, pull and move up to 75 lbs individually or 150 lbs with a partner.
- Grasp, squeeze, handle thin to thick metal, small and large items.
- Reach, handle and grasp while turning of the upper body while moving and lifting.
- Visual acuity to inspect product for various quality flaws and to ensure equipment is safe.
- Proper wear of all required personal protective equipment.
- Work in temperatures consistent with outdoor climate conditions and hot machinery (heat, humidity, etc.).
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Knowledge of production processes, safety regulations, and quality control.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

- Technical understanding of machinery and production systems.
- Familiarity with ERP or production tracking software.
