Machine Shop Operator
Position Summary:
The Kettle Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining industrial kettles used in the manufacturing process. This position ensures products are produced according to quality standards, safety regulations, and production schedules while maintaining a clean and efficient work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate industrial kettles and related processing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Measure, weigh, and add ingredients according to production formulas and specifications.
- Monitor cooking temperatures, mixing times, and processing conditions to ensure product quality.
- Complete production records, batch sheets, and quality documentation accurately.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and report any mechanical issues to maintenance.
- Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety standards, and company policies.
- Clean and sanitize kettles, tools, and work areas according to established procedures.
- Assist with product changeovers and setup for different production runs.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following OSHA and company safety guidelines.
- Work closely with Quality Assurance and Production teams to meet daily production goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous manufacturing, food production, or industrial processing experience preferred.
- Ability to read and follow production recipes, work instructions, and safety procedures.
- Basic math skills for measuring and recording production data.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to work in hot, humid, or fast-paced production environments.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Schedule and Compensation:
- Full-time position.
