A Quality Control Inspector is responsible for making sure that products meet a set of standards. Their duties include examining shipments of inventory and raw goods, measuring the specifications of random items in each production run and training team members to refine production quality.
Job ScheduleFull-time on-site. Monday - Friday,7am-4pm.
Responsibilities of a Quality Inspector- Company product and specs knowledge.
- Reviewing client orders and specifications to compare produced goods, including reading work orders, revision lists and other documents.
- Receiving and inspecting raw material quality control from vendor, including amount, type, color, measure, damaged material, etc.
- Inspecting parts in process, output samples and finished goods using industry-appropriate methods, such as comparing to standards, measuring dimensions, examining functionality and cosmetic, including color, type, measure, quantity, packaging, scratches, bumps, shortage, or excess of parts, etc.
- Checking that the assembly or production line adheres to standards and procedures and complies with legal requirements.
- Recording and reporting inspection results by completing reports, summarizing re-works and wastes and inputting data into quality database.
- Training the production team on quality control measures to improve product excellence.
- Proposing improvements to the production process.
- Monitoring the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and discarding any that does not meet requirements.
- Updating job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and regular training.
- Keeping measurement equipment operating accurately and calling for repairs.
- Collecting and compiling statistical quality data.
- Assisting in the development of test methods and inspection plans.
- Determining the causes of product defects and reworks.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Basic computer and math skills to calibrate and measure specifications.
- Ability to use measuring devices like gauges, meters, calipers, and computers.
- In-depth understanding of company standards.
- Up-to-date knowledge of federal and industry standards and best practices.
- Understanding of target market and consumer needs.
- Documentation and reporting skills.
- Teamwork and collaboration.
- Comfortable standing or walking for long periods of time.
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
