Essential Functions
Performs inspections and extensive preventative maintenance as needed and directed; preventative maintenance includes, but is not limited to, cleaning and lubricating equipment parts, changing belts, replacing filters, checking fluid levels, inspecting drives and motors, and performing other maintenance actions as listed on checklists.
Performs basic diagnostic tests, minor repairs, troubleshooting, and adjustment of equipment/facilities.
Responds to emergency maintenance requests. Manages and completes assigned daily work orders. Assists with installation of new equipment as requested.
Exercises discretion to identify projects that need a higher skill level and informs supervisors. Keeps detailed records of work.
Performs routine preventive maintenance to ensure the physical condition of equipment and buildings does not deteriorate. Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment, tools, and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
Obtains correct replacement parts from inventory and/or advises Parts Room Clerk when a part needs to be ordered. Responsible for leaving work area clean after completion of maintenance or repair of equipment. Assists higher level maintenance employees, including furnishing tools, parts, and supplies. Responsible for keeping track of company tools.
Grows technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, and establishing personal networks. Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Responsible for alerting maintenance supervisor of any unusual occurrence and/or damage that may have taken place or that may occur. Maintains a professional courteous manner with all vendors, contractors, customers, and fellow employees.
Complies with all work related activities in a fair, ethical, and consistent manner. Assures all safety standards are used when working on equipment. Completes special projects and other responsibilities as may be determined.
Job Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesFirst Aid knowledge.
Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
Ability to communicate effectively with employees, managers, and senior management in both a verbal and written manner.
Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions and to interpret plans and sketches.
Strong mechanical and technical aptitude to facilitate recommendation of necessary improvements to Maintenance Supervisor.
Basic knowledge of industrial power systems, electricity, oil and gas machinery, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Ability to use equipment designed to inspect, test, monitor, and measure safe environmental levels.
Ability to locate, diagnose, and repair most minor mechanical malfunctions in equipment.
Excellent organizational skills; ability to prioritize and effectively manage time to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to work long hours and weekends.
Education and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or Equivalent or 2 years prior experience.
General knowledge of OSHA and HAZMAT regulations.
Basic concepts of algebra and geometry to calculate proportions, percentages, area, volume, etc.
Ability to respond to all emergency or non-emergency situations.
Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, reach, bend, climb, squat, crawl, talk, and listen for long periods of time.
Ability to travel in relation with the work and/or continued education.
Ability to operate hand and power tools, industrial machines, digital cameras, phones, scanners, tools, and controls in a safe manner.
Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, color perception, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus, hand-eye coordination.
Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to wear protective equipment such as safety glasses.
Ability to work and concentrate in a noisy environment.
Requires working with a wide variety of other job groups and involves working around traffic, heights, electricity, hydraulics, and heavy equipment including moving parts. Must have…
