Career Advisor

Career Team is a leading workforce development organization dedicated to transforming lives through technology and high‑touch services. We are looking to hire a Career Advisor who will provide professional career counseling, intensive case management, and follow‑up services under the supervision of the WIOA Program Lead.

• Provide information and case management services to the community and eligible WIOA participants.
• Collaborate with the Intake Specialist to complete intake and eligibility determination for the workforce program.
• Assess jobseekers’ employment, abilities, and training needs through interviewing, testing, and other methods.
• Serve as a liaison between workforce development programs and community partners.
• Enter data into VOS and other participant information systems as required.
• Guide job seekers through the preparation of individual employment plans (IEP) based on their occupational goals.
• Stay current on labor market trends and best practices.
• Counsel clients on available job opportunities, training programs, and other services.
• Refer individuals to appropriate services, training programs, or job opportunities, and follow up on those activities.
• Conduct orientation sessions, workshops, job clubs, and other group presentations for clients.
• Follow all policies, procedures, and regulations related to eligibility documentation.
• Maintain accurate individual case files, ensuring each file contains all required eligibility documents and meets compliance requirements.
• Meet and/or exceed program benchmarks.
• Participate in staff events as required, including training, meetings, and individual supervision.
• Complete all required reports within the data management system.
• Approach each day and task with a “ZAG” mindset.
• Perform other duties and projects as needed for program success.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong communication skills and knowledge of community resources.
• Analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to make well‑thought‑out decisions.
• Proficiency with MS Word and Excel; ability to learn specialized databases and software systems.
• Ability to work in a variety of settings with a culturally diverse customer base and maintain cultural sensitivity.
• Role model qualities and motivation to help clients achieve goals.
• Strong interpersonal, time‑management, customer‑service, organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
• Knowledgeable about the WIOA program and other workforce program requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient in maintaining confidentiality.
• Exceptional time‑management skills to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
• Knowledgeable about local region and relevant partners.
• Bilingual or multilingual preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.

• Salary: $45K – $55K
• Travel: up to 30% local travel may be required.
