Department Overview: The Air Defense Ground Equipment Mechanical Design Department is responsible for the mechanical design, development, and integration of critical defense platform systems. This includes radar and communications shelters, electronic subsystems, launchers, hardware integration, and system interconnects.

• Perform mechanical design checks, and checking of documentation of components, sub-assemblies, and major end items for defense system equipment in accordance with system requirements.
• Lead small mechanical or cross functional engineering team as the technical focal point within an integrated product team environment.
• Support the factory and suppliers with product integration domestically.
• Interface with other engineering disciplines, non-technical disciplines, and suppliers to develop design solutions and resolve technical challenges.
• Work with limited supervision and meet commitments for assigned schedule, financial, and technical goals.
• Apply knowledge and experience in technical problem solving and hardware development in a fast paced, team environment.
• Mentor and guide less experienced engineers.
• Understand Raytheon Process and Procedures to be applied to our drawing release processes.

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years’ experience.
• Experience in mechanical design, development, material selection, or manufacturing processes
• Experience with CAD design tools or associated product data management tools.
• Experience in the tools of CREO, AutoCAD, and Raster

• Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience in the tools of Mentor, Inventor, Firmware, and Solidworks
• Excellent communication, technical writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of MIL-STD-31000, ASME Y14.24, ASME Y14.100
• ASME Y14.5 GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) experience
• Experience with Windchill PDM or similar product data management tool
• Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
• Demonstrated team player, self-driven leader with excellent collaboration skills

• Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. Role is an On-Site role in Tewksbury or Andover, MA
