Senior Software Safety Engineer
Location: Tewksbury, MA (50 Apple Hill Dr, Concord BLDG, Tewksbury Tb3 300 Concord)
Security ClearanceSecret DoD clearance required before start date. Must be U.S. citizen and have an existing or interim secret clearance.
Responsibilities- Analyze engineering software and/or firmware in accordance with MIL-STD-882E, JSSSEH, AOP-52, and other relevant standards.
- Work with software development teams to review and analyze embedded software code; collaborate with Program Management and government approval authorities from program startup through deployment to gain concurrence with software builds.
- Assist with software and firmware analyses and participate in execution of the Software System Safety Program.
- Interface with stakeholders, including customers, program offices, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Prepare Safety Assessment Reports and Safety Program Briefs for customer approval.
- Assist with software safety technical reviews and interpret system requirements, customer specifications, and military standards.
- Collaborate across disciplines to gain comprehensive understanding of product architecture and design.
- Manage System Safety Working Groups with key Raytheon and Customer representatives.
- Perform work on Special Access Programs, as applicable.
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with System Safety Engineering, System Engineering, Software or Firmware Engineering, or Safety Engineering in Aerospace, Automotive, or Medical Device.
- Active DoD clearance.
- Experience developing and implementing MIL-STD-882 System Safety Program tasks and analyses.
- Experience with DoD System Safety standards such as MIL-STD-882 / DO-178.
- Experience with Agile development environments and Earned Value Management Systems.
- Experience conducting Human Systems Integration tasks involving MIL-STD-1472.
- Experience with Engineering Change Proposals, Engineering Review Boards, and System Safety Working Groups.
Salary range: $86,800 - $165,200.
