Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.

The LTAMDS program is seeking electrical engineers interested in working on hardware development and integration, with rotations across various radar modules utilizing a variety of key technologies. We are seeking an electrical engineer to broaden their existing skillsets into the integration and validation of a mixed digital, power and control, RF/microwave, and Active Electronically Steered Antennas (AESAs). This includes subsystem validation, integration and test, and transition to production of advanced receiver and exciter hardware and firmware utilized in complex AESAs.

The successful candidate will be onboarded in one technical discipline, expanding hardware knowledge at the CCA then module level, then rotating to another module or into a phased array integration activity. The candidate will train new skills through hands‑on programs which will provide the onboarding required to become a key member of the LTAMDS Phased Array Product team.

What You Will Do

Responsible for designing phased array antenna systems including active and passive microwave components and a variety of analog to digital RF subassemblies. Develop power and control electronics that interface with system command and control software. Develop new technologies for advanced capabilities and provide support to all life‑cycle phases of the best radar systems in active worldwide deployments and grow our people with exciting new challenges, on‑the‑job training, mentoring and purposeful rotations.

Initial experience will be gained on one of 10 Phased Array LRUs. Provide Engineering support module builds and test and any associated performance validation or investigations. Train on Phased Array Pilot Array and develop Near Field Range phase array integration skills. Support NFR testing. Support Radar Far Field Range Testing.

Qualifications

You Must Have Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) degree and a minimum of 5 years’ prior relevant experience, to include any combination of the following:
Advanced microwave principles and Microwave/RF system, subsystem and component analysis, design and test. Demonstrated experience in validation of requirements from the component level to module level, up to phased array system level. Matlab and Linux data processing as related to Microwave Engineering, Microwave Systems, Electromagnetic Theory and Radar Systems. Strong hands on experience with microwave testing techniques, including using spectrum analyzers, Real‑time Spectrum Analyzers (RSAs), Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs) and Performance Network Analyzer (PNAs).

We Prefer Experience allocating and flowing down radar requirements from the system to the component level. Demonstrated ability in a variety of metrology skills in at least one or more areas of microwave components, antenna far field / near field, FPGA controls / performance, power systems, ADC / DAC up /down converter chains, SW / FW integration onto complex assemblies.

Background designing analog CCAs, including frequency conversion, automatic gain control, amplifier design and analog filter design. Knowledge of cost estimating, plus budget and schedule management. Knowledge of IFF Interrogators and AIM 1210 certification standards. Demonstrated experience in generation of cascade analysis and frequency planning. Interface definition between Digital Receiver Exciter subsystem and supporting phased array modules. Support of signal processing algorithm definition based on Receiver/Exciter capabilities and system needs.

Support the resolution of complex technical issues seen during the integration and test of Radar Receiver and Exciter sub‑systems. Experience with I/Q signal processing analysis in…
