Engineering Specialist — Modification Order

Position Overview

Life Cycle Engineering encompasses multiple disciplines that support engineering teams, program offices, and our customers throughout the entire product life cycle. The primary focus area for this role is product support, specifically in the disciplines of Reliability, System Safety, and Supportability. In this position you will support Modification Work Order (MWO) efforts by collaborating with internal engineering teams, Program Offices, and external Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) customers.

Location:

Tewksbury, MA – 836 North St, Innovation Building.

Security clearance: U.S. citizen with an existing DoD Secret clearance is required. The position requires a secure environment and involves handling classified information.

• Manage MWO manuscripts throughout the entire life cycle.
• Review Class 1 Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) for MWO impact.
• Organize and lead MWO manuscript peer reviews.
• Present MWO schedules and status updates at customer meetings.
• Participate in status meetings with Program Office and IFMC personnel.
• Lead bi‑weekly manuscript status review meetings with the IFMC customer.
• Conduct formal MWO validation activities with engineering and customer personnel.
• Coordinate all activities required to prepare the MWO manuscript for implementation and serve as a liaison among various disciplines across the organization.
• Travel within the continental U.S. approximately 20% of the time.

• University degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 2 years of relevant prior experience, or an advanced degree in a related field.
• Experience working with Technical Data, Engineering Documentation, Configuration Management (CM), or Product Data Management (PDM).
• Active and existing U.S. government‑issued security clearance preferred.
• Knowledge of missile system product lines (e.g., Patriot) and major end items, with a general understanding of system life‑cycle processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and deliver accurate documentation under tight deadlines.
• Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Salary range: USD 68,900 – 131,100.
