Position: Principal Digital Electrical Engineer (ONSITE) in Tewksbury

Principal Digital Electrical Engineer – Collins Aerospace (an RTX company).

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking a Principal Digital Electrical Engineer to perform duties at a work center with an emphasis on communications products. The primary work product is the complete digital design of a PCB (Printed Wiring Board) from inception through layout and assembly. Responsibilities include following hardware design requirements, observing design checklists, adhering to accepted processes, preparing design documentation and working within a team environment.

The candidate must coordinate with Layout, Systems, Mechanical, Test, FPGA and Software engineers. Proficiency with analog and mixed‑signal circuits is desirable.

What You Will Do
  • Design Digital Circuit Cards from inception through layout and assembly
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure requirements are met at every level of design
  • Work with ECAD designers to generate full databases and drawings to build PWB/CCAs
  • Perform design analyses (timing, power, signal integrity)
  • Perform design verification and troubleshooting
  • Produce and present design documentation
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Proficient in digital CCA design – parts selection, schematic capture, library management, and parts lists creation
  • Proficient in PCB design – stackup/plane/routing rules definition & verification, placement, constraints setting, and DRC validation
  • Proficient in artwork (ODB++) validation and creating PWB/CCA drawing sets
  • Proficient in design verification/analysis – timing, power, and signal integrity analysis, bench level testing, troubleshooting, and test results analysis
  • Capable of conducting trade studies and producing comprehensive design documentation including test requirements and design memos
  • Experience as an electrical engineer developing digital/mixed signal high‑speed CCA assemblies
  • Typically requires a STEM degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree and minimum 5 years experience
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Proficiency with Siemens Xpedition Design Tools
  • Understanding of IPC, IEEE, and MIL standards for PCB design and fabrication
  • Adept at using the Microsoft Tool Suite
  • Proficiency with analog and mixed‑signal circuits

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the role, function and associated responsibilities, candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
