Principal Electrical Engineer
The Radar Digital Products Department is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer with strong mixed signal high speed digital circuit design skills. Our digital electronic system designs include signal processing, command and control, communications, and user interfaces for military applications.
This position can be for the Tewksbury, MA location or the Marlborough, MA location.
What You Will Do
- Design embedded processor circuit boards using CAD tools
- Work within a team of engineers developing designs based on modeling and simulations
- Work with Systems Engineers and other development team members in translating system performance and operational specifications into hardware requirements, design, and test specifications.
- Help drive projects and execute to program schedules on time and budget
- May lead small teams and mentor junior engineers
- Demonstrate self-motivation, with little supervision required
- Support internal and external technical reviews
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
- Experience implementing high speed memory (DDR) and high speed circuit (ie. PCIE, 100
GbE) designs - Power Integrity/Signal Integrity analysis skills including experience using tools such as Hyperlynx SI
- Experience fielding, troubleshooting, constructing test and integration plans on a variety of systems including custom designed processor and/or FPGA based circuit boards
- Experience using engineering CAD tools such as Mentor Graphics Xpedition Designer for the design of complex circuit board assemblies
- Experience working in a laboratory environment using logic analyzers and oscilloscopes to test and verify the functions of digital and mixed signal circuits and systems
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience implementing low noise, low voltage, high current, power regulation designs
- A history of successfully addressing thermal challenges
- Embedded system design experience utilizing microprocessors and microcontrollers along with C code based programming
- Some FPGA development or verification skills using System Verilog, OVM, or VHDL with some experience with vendor logic synthesis tools (such as Xilinx Vivado)
- Knowledge of all Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
- Willingness to support occasional domestic travel and potential international travel
- Existing DoD security clearance

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
