Location: North Tewksbury
Position Overview
Sr. Principal Systems Administrator Lead – Onsite in Tewksbury, Massachusetts. The role requires managing a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux server infrastructure, mentoring staff, ensuring secure and compliant operations for classified programs.
What You Will Do- Manage and optimize a heterogeneous Windows and Linux server infrastructure.
- Mentor and guide junior administrators on maintenance, operational tasks, account management, and performance tuning.
- Lead a team to maintain confidentiality, integrity, and availability of assigned IT systems and applications.
- Configure administrator and service accounts, maintain system documentation, tune performance, install enterprise software, and manage computing and storage resources.
- Partner with Cybersecurity teams to maintain compliance and provide documentation, training, and guidance on advanced IT processes.
- Participate in Change Request reviews and serve on Change Management Boards.
- Coordinate technical and process document reviews, troubleshoot, and resolve system administration, engineering, and integration issues.
- Lead and contribute to technical meetings with internal teams and program stakeholders.
- Participate in operations 24/7 and occasional off‑hours work; travel to other U.S. domestic locations up to 10% of the time.
- University degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 8 years of related experience, or advanced degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued security clearance on day
1. - U.S. citizenship.
- Experience with Active Directory Domain Services, VMware vCenter/vSphere, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Windows Client and Server, TCP/IP, DNS.
- Experience leading and mentoring teams.
- Must obtain DoDD
8140/8570 certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent) within a reasonable timeframe.
- Organizational skills, attention to detail, time management, multitasking.
- Experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, and/or DoD/RMF guidelines.
- Experience with Storage Area Network (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) systems.
- Experience with configuration and maintenance of networking switch and firewall devices.
- Experience with legacy systems such as Solaris8/9/10, Microsoft Server
2008/2012/2016, Windows NT/XP/7, Red Hat Enterprise Linux4/5/6.
- Base salary range: $107,500 - $204,500
