The Missile Defense Sensors (MDS) software department within Raytheon is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to support the National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System (NASAMS) team.

NASAMS is a cutting-edge air defense system that protects critical assets and population centers from aerial threats by integrating advanced radar, command and control (C2), and missile systems.

Platform Engineers design, optimize, and maintain the secure, scalable, mission‑critical software infrastructure that underpins radar, C2, and Dev Sec Ops ‑intensive systems. You will help develop our platform architecture, enhance modernization, and ensure delivery of robust capabilities that support real‑time mission execution across programs. This position is located onsite in Tewksbury, Massachusetts.

Implement platform architecture and modernization strategies for NASAMS mission systems, including automation and secure platform design. Develop resilient, scalable, and secure platform environments using Linux, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Ansible, Artifactory and related technologies. Work on end‑to‑end Dev Sec Ops  workflows to support high‑frequency, high‑quality deployments across MDS programs. Work on CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git Lab CI/CD) to ensure secure, automated build, test, and release processes k on cross‑program integration efforts spanning Software, Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, Platform, and Integration & Test teams.

Dev Sec Ops  transformation efforts across classified environments. Strategies for scaling platform engineering capabilities across multiple mission programs.

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
• Experience in Linux platform engineering and administration.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible and/or virtualization tools such as VMware/KVM.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance is required after start date U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
