Job Summary
Senior Manager, Material Program Manager (MPM) – Operations & Supply Chain, Advanced Technologies Strategic Business Unit – Advanced Integrated Surface Sensors Directorate, Tewksbury, MA. This hybrid role requires advanced knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP), project management, and proposal development within a matrixed environment. The role involves leading material program strategies, supporting capture and early execution of new contracts, and serving as a supply‑chain subject‑matter expert for cross‑functional teams.
Responsibilities• Lead the development and execution of procurement strategies, including RFPs, risk assessments, cost management, and program execution plans.
• Review and assess request for proposals and bid packages; support key performance indicator development and implementation with the supply base.
• Collaborate with Operations, Planning, and Finance to optimize supply‑chain cycles and meet development requirements.
• Engage Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) to resolve supply‑chain issues and provide SME support for other functional areas.
• Lead projects that enhance supply‑chain performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Support internal and external audits related to material and cost validations.
• Define objectives and guide others in the execution of developmental results.
• Influence stakeholders to adopt policies, practices, and procedures and make risk‑based decisions in complex situations.
• Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
RequirementsEducation and Experience
- University degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 10 years in a relevant field, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience.
- Aerospace and defense industry experience.
- Experience with supply‑chain, vendor management, risk assessment/mitigation, and performance management.
- ERP experience, e.g., SAP.
- Project‑management experience is a strong plus.
Security Clearance
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Must obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued Secret clearance; existing clearance required after day 1.
Additional Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Materials Program Manager.
- Proposal experience applying FAR standards.
- Experience working in a matrix organization and leading multi‑site teams.
- Knowledge of business, supply‑chain, or engineering related subjects.
