Production Planner I Position Overview
The Production Planner I supports the manufacturing process by performing kit release/receipt, material support, and documentation maintenance activities within production environments that support manufacturing schedules and operational commitments on engineering and production programs. The Production Planner I is responsible for participating in the accuracy and timeliness of the production process. This role will communicate cross functionally to ensure all parties are aware of change orders and delays with purchase orders.
This role will also be responsible for maintaining accurate job status and progress records, communicating potential delays or issues to the supervisor, and using the database system to manage work orders from release through receipt into stock. This is a fully onsite position located in Tewksbury, MA.
- Maintain job progress, status records, and notify supervisor of impending delays or serious difficulties affecting commitments
- Respond to material shortages due to lost, damaged, or defective material in order to prevent work stoppages in area of responsibility
- Maintain accurate records by updating applicable systems which provide regular reports on the status of product to the Supply Chain department
- Assist with inquiries from production floor and work with stockroom to resolve issues when required
- Ensure that engineering change orders affecting parts and materials are incorporated into products by effective date
- Utilize database to release, update and receive work orders to stock
- Monthly review of old and aging work orders (WIP)
- Actively participate in the establishment of point of use material
- Review past due purchase orders with purchasing and communicate updates to manufacturing
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required
- This position is onsite in Tewksbury, MA five days per week
- Bachelor's Degree, High School diploma or equivalent required
- Must have 3+ years related experience in material/production or configuration control environment
- Working knowledge of material requirements and planning processes in a mixed model environment
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment with high level of attention to detail skills is a must
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, within team and other departments
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel / Word) required
- APICS Certification a plus
- Knowledge of Visual Manufacturing (Infor) Database a plus
- Knowledge of Back flushing / Point of Use / Min-Max - Inventory management methods is helpful
Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Expected pay range is between $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year.
