Our growing company is in need of a Field Sales Representative to increase sales in our Massachusetts and Rhode Island market. Successful candidates will hunt for new opportunities, expand existing relationships with current clients and follow up on potential leads.

Responsibilities
  • Sell company products and services by generating leads and calling on assigned customer accounts, delivering samples, product line cards and sales literature to customers and prospective customers resulting in established relationships and winning product orders to achieve sales objectives.
  • Establish and maintain effective business rapport with customers’ purchasing and management staff by ensuring all aspects of transactions are handled in a professional, ethical, and timely manner, resulting in TTI being viewed as the distributor of choice and gaining the first call on the business.
  • Pursue new business leads using all available resources including trade shows, networking, manufacturers, internet, and TTI internal resources to penetrate and secure new business, expanding the customer base and potential sales.
  • Facilitate follow‑thru on every level of the sales cycle by keeping touch with the customer, inside sales, manufacturers, sample requests, quotes, and ensuring everything is complete, timely, and meets customer expectations.
  • Attend quarterly business reviews (Q ) with suppliers as well as regular meetings with internal management to understand the business outlook and opportunities.
  • Ensure timeliness of price quotes by working with appropriate TTI personnel to gather accurate product and delivery information, ensuring the solution for the customer and the highest profitability for TTI.
  • Increase customer account coverage by working closely with Account Representatives to ensure the customer receives the highest level of customer service and support.
  • Work with the customer’s buyers, purchasing and engineering staff on projects and designs by offering value‑added services to ascertain future business.
  • Strategize with company management on large customer quotes to negotiate price and delivery terms to offer the best deal for the customer and win the business, while maximizing profit for TTI.
  • Negotiate special pricing from suppliers by exposing business opportunities during the quote process, in an effort to offer the best deal for the customer and win the business.
  • Answer and resolve all customer questions, problems and complaints by responding to contacts, resolving the issue of concern, and following through in a timely manner to provide the highest level of service available.
  • Entertain customers in the normal course of business, to aid in negotiations and/or to show appreciation of business, by hosting a lunch or dinner when appropriate.
  • Maintain market awareness of competitor activities, industry trends and new concepts by reading industry periodicals, networking, attending training events and trade shows, ensuring the representative is current on industry knowledge to aid in making informed decisions and adding value.
  • Report daily itinerary to branch management by submitting details on appointments such as who is being visited (customer), what the topic of the visit is, when and where the appointment is to take place, so that customer activity and effectiveness can be tracked.
  • Participate in the TTI Total Quality Program by supporting the importance of quality; ensuring that defined processes are being followed, proofing orders and company documents for errors, and identifying areas of process improvement in everyday transactions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree and two years of field sales experience, preferably in component sales and/or engineering, with a background that includes progression from inside sales; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
