Position Summary The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance to ensure the assigned multifamily property operates efficiently and maintains a high standard of appearance. This role is hands-on and service-oriented, supporting daily work orders, property upkeep, and resident needs while helping prevent minor issues from becoming major repairs. The Maintenance Technician works closely with the Maintenance and Property Management teams and serves as a key contributor to resident satisfaction and community safety.

Location:
Onsite / Residences at Tewksbury Commons / Tewksbury, MA
Schedule:
Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PMOn-Call:
Required on a scheduled basis, including occasional weekends or holidays
Key Responsibilities Perform routine, preventative, and emergency maintenance and repairs, including light carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and HVAC-related work Respond to work orders promptly and proactively identify maintenance issues to prevent escalation
Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of buildings, grounds, and resident amenities such as pools and clubhouses
Interact professionally and courteously with residents in their homes and throughout the community
Follow all company safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working and living environment
Assist with general property upkeep and support team members as needed
Career Path & Next Role Readiness The Maintenance Technician role is intentionally designed as a pathway to the Lead Maintenance Technician role. Employees are typically considered Next Role Ready after consistently demonstrating strong performance for 12+ months by:
Strong troubleshooting skills across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliance repair
Ability to prioritize service requests and make-ready turns
Informal mentorship of junior technicians
Understanding of vendor coordination and inventory controls
Dependable on-call participation and safety compliance
Next Role Readiness does not guarantee promotion but ensures priority consideration for internal advancement opportunities when available.
Compensation Base Salary Range: $33 – $35/hr (dependent on experience, skills, and location)
Bonus Eligibility:

Required Education & Experience2+ years of relevant maintenance experience in multifamily, residential, or hospitality environments
High school diploma or GED required
Must be at least 18 years of age Technical Skills & Abilities Experience in general building maintenance, including handyman work, light carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and painting
Prior experience maintaining and repairing appliances and HVAC systems
Familiarity with tools and materials used in residential building maintenance
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Physical Requirements Ability to safely use tools and equipment with manual dexterity and stamina, including lifting up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, climbing stairs and ladders, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Additional Requirements Must maintain a personal tool kit appropriate for completing assigned work Valid driver’s license required to operate company-owned or personal vehicles for business purposes
Occasional off-site travel to pick up supplies
