OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to support the C5I product line within the Missile Defense Sensors (MDS) Software Department. The MDS mission is to provide world‑class Radar and C2 software across an array of surveillance and warning systems. In this senior role, you will shape platform architecture, drive modernization, and ensure delivery of robust capabilities that support real‑time mission execution across programs.
Responsibilities- Implement platform architecture and modernization strategies for C5I mission systems, including automation, container orchestration, and secure platform design.
- Develop resilient, scalable, and secure platform environments using Linux, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Ansible, Artifactory and related technologies.
- Work on end‑to‑end Dev Sec Ops workflows to support high‑frequency, high‑quality deployments across MDS programs.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git Lab CI/CD) for secure, automated build, test and release processes at scale.
- Collaborate on cross‑program integration efforts spanning Software, Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, Platform and Integration & Test teams.
- Debug and optimize performance across distributed and containerized environments.
- Mentor and guide Platform Engineers, providing technical direction and fostering a culture of learning and collaboration.
- Lead Agile Scrum/Kanban activities, supporting planning, estimation and technical execution.
- Advanced real‑time radar and C2 system behavior, multi‑sensor data processing and secure distributed system design.
- Dev Sec Ops transformation efforts across classified environments.
- Strategies for scaling platform engineering capabilities across multiple mission programs.
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM disciplines and at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in Linux platform engineering and administration.
- Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, virtualization tools (VMware/KVM).
- Skilled in scripting and automation (Python, Bash, Power Shell).
- Experience with CI/CD systems (Jenkins, Git Lab CI/CD) and secure build/deployment architectures.
- U.S. citizenship and Secret security clearance (obtainable after start date).
- Experience with radar, C2, or large‑scale real‑time defense systems.
- Hands‑on experience with Dev Sec Ops tools (Docker, Ansible Tower, Artifactory, Git Hub/Bitbucket) in secure or classified environments.
- Experience with high‑availability systems, distributed architectures, or high‑performance computing environments.
- Experience architecting solutions across multiple programs simultaneously.
- Strong communication and Agile management skills (JIRA, Confluence).
- Experience with mission‑critical platform or Dev Sec Ops environments for distributed or real‑time systems.
Competitive salary range: $86,800 - $165,200 USD. Additional incentive compensation programs may apply per business unit and job level.
