Senior Software Development Engineer – Onsite, Tewksbury, MA
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Development Engineer to design, develop, and maintain complex systems in C/C++, Java, and Python. The role focuses on integrating emerging AI‑enabled technologies and delivering high‑performance applications throughout the entire software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain software applications using C/C++, Java, and Python for complex systems.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define, design, and implement new features, ensuring system integration, scalability, and AI‑assisted development pipelines.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing code for performance and efficiency in complex environments.
- Write and maintain comprehensive documentation, including system architecture and design specifications.
- Develop automation pipelines to streamline integration of upstream releases and automate configuration management.
- Participate in code reviews and enforce coding standards and best practices.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in C/C++, Java, Python, and AI‑related fields relevant to complex systems and continuous delivery.
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of five years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in C/C++, Java, or other object‑oriented languages.
- Experience developing complex or embedded systems, real‑time systems, or large‑scale applications.
- Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
- Active Secret security clearance.
- Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, high‑concurrency, and distributed systems; experience with AI/ML frameworks is a plus.
- Expertise in multithreading, memory management, and performance optimization.
- Experience with network communication protocols, shell scripting (tcsh, csh, bash), and tools like Git and Clear Case.
- Familiarity with embedded RTOSs (e.g., VxWorks, Integrity) and debuggers.
- Strong problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Leadership experience on small projects or initiatives.
- Proven experience developing automation pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and Git; AI‑assisted automation valued.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Bash.
- Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, or other development methodologies.
- Ability to provide technical guidance or mentorship to junior engineers.
- Onsite role located in Tewksbury, Massachusetts.
- Salary range: $86,800 – $165,200 per year.
