Job Description
The Budget Specialist I, under supervision, performs routine budget preparation and analysis work.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Provides advice and assistance concerning budget and funding procedures and methods
- Assists in the monitoring, processing and tracking requests
- Assists in reviewing, evaluating, and preparing requests for funds
- Assists in the preparation of the annual operating budget
- Conducts training
- May serve as a liaison with financial, payroll, and/or human resources.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Financial Accounting Management Information System (FAMIS)
- Workday experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Other Requirements
- Organizational and decision-making skills
- Accurate keyboarding ability
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to occasionally work beyond normal office hours.
Supervision of Personnel
This position generally does not supervise employees.
