Starting Pay: $21.30-$30.40/hr plus a $2.00 shift premium.

Shift

Hours:

• Wednesday: 6 PM - 6 AM (Thursday)
• Thursday: 6 PM - 6 AM (Friday)
• Friday: 6 PM - 6 AM (Saturday)
• Saturday: 6 PM - 12 AM (Midnight)

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
:

• troubleshoot, maintain and repair equipment and assets
• use basic hand tools
• monitor boiler and perform chemical tests on boiler
• read drawings and schematics of hydraulic and basic electrical systems
• perform welding, cutting, minor electrical repair
• remove and replace motor shafts, couplings, pumps, augers, water and steam pipes, lines, and systems
• other duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements
:

• basic mechanical or maintenance skills; knowledge in welding, hydraulics, basic electricity, power transmission, pneumatics & plumbing
• read and understand assignments; communicate orally & in writing; respond to two-way radio
• lift 50 pounds; climb stairs and ladders up to 60 feet; stand for long periods
• withstand extreme hot, cold, inclement weather & odors
• basic math knowledge; use electrical & pneumatic power tools & equipment
• certified to operate various gas/hydraulic motors and lifts
• preferred: respirator qualified
• 6 months of mechanical/maintenance skills in the last 24 months; preferably industrial maintenance; continuous employment with one employer for 6 months in the last 24 months
• willing to attend outside training, company testing program & vendor training

Physical Requirements
:

• lift 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders up to 60 feet
• stand for long periods of time
• withstand extreme hot, cold, inclement weather & odors

Hazards and Environmental Conditions
:

• wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock; and vibration
• occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals and extreme heat
• noise level in the work environment is usually loud

Rehire Requirements
:

• former Tyson Team Members must be separated from the company for a minimum of 180 calendar days
• if you have worked at Tyson 3 times or more you will not be eligible for rehire
