Associate Professor/Professor & Division Chair, Health Professions

- The Division Chair is the chief academic officer of the division and reports to the Dean of the College.
- Administers the division as the unit budget officer, responsible for planning, direction, and programmatic offerings.
- Coordinates faculty hiring, supervision, and evaluation, overseeing tenure‑track, non‑tenure‑track, and adjunct faculty.
- Prepares the division’s schedule of course offerings, maintains records, and appoints & coordinates committees.
- Addresses student needs, serves as point of contact for students, and manages student workers, GAs, and RAs.
- Maintains teaching effectiveness with a required six‑hour teaching assignment per Fall and Spring semesters and additional compensation for a Summer class.
- Promotes faculty development and recruitment; evaluates faculty in consultation with the Dean.
- Initiates and oversees hiring of full‑time and adjunct faculty, working with HR and credentialing.
- Monitors and manages the division’s budget, including requests and fund allocation.
- Leads strategic planning, direction, and development of the division in alignment with university missions.
- Ensures compliance with college, university, system, and state rules and regulations.
- Advises the Dean and Provost on academic matters concerning the division.
- Oversees curriculum development and revisions; initiates new programs and reviews existing ones.
- Facilitates divisional assessment, reviews student retention and graduation data, and works to improve these metrics.
- Plays a key role in operational planning, enforces division policies, and collaborates with committees and task forces.
- Works with Marketing & Communications on program marketing and recruiting.
- Builds and facilitates community relationships and engages in public relations activities.
- Earned terminal degree in kinesiology, healthcare administration, health sciences, physical therapy, or closely related field.
- Minimum of five years’ experience at a four‑year university for consideration of Associate Professor rank.
- Two (2) or more years of administrative experience as director, program coordinator, chair, or department head.
- Distinguished record of teaching, scholarship, and leadership meeting the CNHHS tenure requirements.
- Experience in accreditation‑related tasks and institutional service activities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of computer applications: word processing, spreadsheets, and database capabilities.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively with all segments of the student population.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. at time of hire.
- No pre‑employment sponsorship is authorized for this position.
- Earned terminal degree in kinesiology, healthcare administration, health sciences, physical therapy, or closely related field.
- Minimum of 10 years full‑time teaching experience with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor.
- Two (2) or more years of administrative experience as director, program coordinator, chair, or department head.
- Distinguished record of teaching, scholarship, and leadership meeting the CNHHS tenure requirements for Full Professor.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of computer applications: word processing, spreadsheets, and database capabilities.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively with all segments of the student population.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. at time of hire.
- No pre‑employment sponsorship is authorized for this position.
- Demonstrated experience in program and curricular development.
- Experience working with national accreditation bodies such as CAPTE, CAMHE.
- Experience supervising faculty and staff, supporting professional growth, and fostering a collaborative division culture.
- Ability to travel and work beyond normal office hours.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
This position generally supervises employees.
