Middle School Boys Coach / Teaching Assignment TBD -  School Year

Pleasant Grove Independent School District, Pleasant Grove Middle School, Texarkana, Texas.

Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for the subject and level assigned
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
• Knowledge of the assigned academic subject
• General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Previous teaching, student teaching, or approved internship experience preferred

• Develop and implement lesson plans according to campus guidelines and district curriculum requirements
• Prepare accommodations for differences in student learning styles
• Present subject matter in accordance with Texas Education Agency guidelines
• Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies, materials, and technology
• Assess student learning and use data to inform instruction
• Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula and support students with IEPs
• Supervise teacher aides, student teachers, and observers
• Integrate technology to strengthen teaching and learning processes
• Maintain open communication with parents, students, and colleagues through conferences and meetings
• Participate in professional development and stay current with state, district, and school regulations
• Maintain confidentiality of student information and comply with district policies

Supervise assigned teacher aide(s), student teachers, and student observers.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling, pushing, and moving small stacks of textbooks and equipment.
