Professional Learning Community (PLC) Facilitator
Starting Date: Immediately
Primary PurposeThe PLC Facilitator will develop, support and facilitate PLC groups to ensure the implementation of protocols, promote positive collaboration within a team, help determine what data are needed, how data are used to inform student instruction, and guide teams to implement Bluebonnet learning in collaboration with the building principal and instructional leadership team.
Qualifications- Education/Certification: Master’s degree in curriculum and instruction or educational leadership preferred;
Bachelor’s degree required. - Texas teacher certificate in appropriate area.

Skills:
Proficient understanding of curriculum and instruction. - Ability to evaluate instructional program and teaching effectiveness.
- Ability to assess teaching practices and provide information in a strength-based manner.
- Ability to access information and resources, create and critically investigate multiple areas.
- Ability to provide professional development training individually, in small and large groups.
- Strong evaluative and assessment skills of staff and student data.
- Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills.
- Calm and patient demeanor with staff, students and others.
- Experience: Three years as a successful classroom teacher.
- Develop and implement a PLC schedule for each content area.
- Facilitate and lead all PLC meetings.
- Collaborate with the principal to identify ways they can support the learning teams.
- Communicate and support specific expectations for PLC teams.
- Organize and catalog PLC evidence, including agendas, notes and data sheets.
- Track progress towards goals.
- Facilitate the collection and analysis of the evidence of student learning.
- Guide teams in setting weekly agendas and ensure team notes are recorded and accessible.
- Post/share PLC documents in a shared folder and share with campus and district leaders.
- Share knowledge of the PLC process with team members.
- Participate in all Professional Development sessions.
- Participate in PLC and curriculum-related training as appropriate.
- Collect, compile, analyze and share data with PLC members from state, district, and local assessments, including common formative and summative assessments in collaboration with principal, Instructional Coaches, and district leaders.
- Ensure team norms are developed and followed.
- Model professional disposition to lead the team in becoming healthier, more productive, and more effective.
- Provide leadership to grade level or department teams on campus/district PD days.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Other duties as assigned.
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.
